Reproductive genomics staff
Project Core:
Random chemical mutagenesis of the mouse genome to produce mouse models of infertility. The goal of this project is to use a three-generation breeding screen to select recessive mutations affecting reproductive function.
Staff:
Mary Ann Handel, PhD., Principal Investigator
Sheila Bornstein, M.S., Research Assistant III; primary screening
Heather Lothrop, Technician; primary screening
Project I: Mapping, phenotype description, and positional cloning
The goal of this project is to regionally map all mutations and fine map selected genes of interest.
Staff:
John Schimenti, PhD., Principal Investigator
Sheila Bornstein, M.S., Research Assistant III; mapping
Heather Lothrop, Technician; mapping
Laura Reinholdt, PhD., Associate Research Scientist; mapping and positional cloning The Jackson Laboratory Fine Mapping Laboratory; mapping
Project II. Functional genomics of male gametogenesis
The goal of this project is to provide phenotype description of
infertile male mutants. This project includes secondary screening in
the Male Infertility Clinic and detailed phenotype analyses
of selected mutants.

Project III. Functional genomics of female gametogenesis
The goal of this project is to provide phenotype description of
infertile female mutants. This project includes secondary screening in
the Female Infertility Clinic and detailed phenotype analyses
of selected mutants.
